Why we play
Hockey de Rue is one of Montreal’s premier street hockey tournaments. Organized by the Sylvan
Adams YM-YWHA and the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation, the event directly benefits
hundreds of disadvantaged kids in Greater Montreal. Patrice Brisebois, Guy Carbonneau, Pierre Dagenais, Marc André Bergeron, Jocelyn Lemieux, Gilles Thibodeau are but a few of the players who have laced up to play. Youppi! joins us for the day while plenty of concessions, haircuts, massage stalls and shoot-outs keep everyone busy throughout the tournament. Together with our sponsors, we help kids realize their potential through vital sports and recreation programs that serve the local community.
The Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation
The Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation
is determined to provide a better and healthier future for children in need. By uniting the members of the great Canadiens family and by teaming up with the community, the Foundation encourages physical activity and the adoption of a healthy lifestyle among underprivileged youth from 4 to 17 years old. Hockey de Rue is one of the signature MCCF annual fundraising events.
